Fools Gold

I created this film completely independently during my final year at university for my sound module. The brief was simple create a short film that contained a soundtrack created in Apple’s Logic Pro. Although marks were awarded for the video too, it was more important that the audio and the music fitted in well with the theme of the video.

The film is about two students that hear about a legend that could make them rich. One of the students is a sceptic and the other has to try hard to convince him to believe. The story takes place on campus and it is the first proper short film that I have made that includes all the main areas of filming; Pre-production, Production and Post-production.

Although there are many areas of the film that still need work on, it was a huge learning curve for me and I learnt so much from the project. This project was my first attempt at using After Effects to create special effects which was a lot of fun in making.

Dionysus

Dionysus was the film I created for my final year project. It was meant to highlight the dangers of drinking and driving and I wanted to achieve this in a unique way.

The film is set in space to emphasise the scale and impact that drinking and driving can cause. Therefore to create a realistic environment I created some of the sets in 3D and filmed in green screen.

It involved a lot of organisation to get the actors, props, equipment and locations for the film and I learnt a lot in terms of the shear magnitude of making a film from start to finish.
